Below are details of the executive board which oversees the operations of MTX.
Chairman
Gerald has been involved in the construction and building services industry for the whole of his working life and is a fellow of the CIBSE and IHEEM.
In 1983 he set up his own business specialising in the healthcare market and other demanding applications requiring specialist knowledge and experience.
2002 saw the formation of MTX Contracts Ltd with his elder son David as Co Director and later his younger son Steven with specialist knowledge in construction methods.
MTX has shown significant development and growth year on year since its inception and today has a turnover in excess of £30 million.
In 2016 Gerald stepped down as Managing Director assuming the Chairman’s role and David took over at the helm as MD to continue the development of this exciting business.
Gerald is still active today offering his years of experience whenever needed.
Managing Director
David leads the MTX business as Managing Director, bringing the benefit of over 25 years industry experience and has been instrumental in growing MTX since its creation with Gerald Hartley, who still serves as Chairman on the Board.
David stepped up into Managing Director in 2016 following the role of Commercial Director and provides inspirational leadership as well as strategic direction for the business, supporting sustainable growth through collaborative culture, underpinned with proven technical excellence in product and service.
David has a passion for innovative and alternative construction methods, constantly challenging convention and traditional construction and ultimately ensuring that projects are delivered faster, safer and to an improved quality.
Board Director
Steven Hartley is a Director at MTX. Steven leads the contract delivery teams and specialises in MTX’s fast-track projects, in addition to highly sensitive projects requiring meticulous planning and execution. Having built an impressive career in the healthcare construction industry, starting off based on site through to directorship at MTX, Steven has been a valued member of the team growing the MTX business since joining in 2006.
Steven brings extensive experience on numerous contract types and procurement methods ranging from traditional, Light Steel Frame, design and build, target cost and open book accounting for a diverse client base. His key focus is in the development and roll out of best practice as well as challenging our supply chain to deliver innovative projects to a high quality.
Board Director
David has been with MTX since 2004, progressing with the company to his role today as Contracts Director. Having successfully delivered over £100 million plus of projects under all types of construction contracts, David continues to be at the forefront of project delivery by management of the complete project teams along with key interaction with our clients.
David leads on development of our team members through CPD and training, as well as being accountable for implementing and improving on site practices and compliance.
David’s drive for project success and company growth continues to strive forward with his commitment for new processes and forward thinking for all company activities and set goals to achieve streamlining of programmes, quality and client satisfaction.
Board Director
Scott is a Director at MTX, where Scott leads the contract delivery teams as well as the service and maintenance operations. Having built an impressive career in the construction industry, starting off with a technical engineering apprenticeship through to directorship at MTX, Scott has been a valued member of the team growing the MTX business since joining in 2002.
Scott brings extensive experience on numerous contract types and procurement methods ranging from traditional, framework, design and build, target cost and open book accounting for a diverse client base, to leading and complementing our contract delivery team. His key focus is in the development and roll out of best practice as well as challenging our supply chain to deliver innovative projects.
Having been responsible for over 100 projects in various disciplines including health, education and commercial, leading MTX projects with a zero defects, 100% safe customer focussed approach, seeing through the delivery of our pre-construction commitments in both construction and operational phases.
Board Director
Adam is the prime point of contact for our customers during our collaborative early engagement and pre-construction stages, working closely with customers and stakeholders to embed innovation and tailor our solutions to their needs and the specific requirements of each individual site and project.
Adam is supported by our in house team of Estimators and BIM enabled design team, ensuing we have balance function and form with accurate best value pricing. Adam embeds his customer focussed approach into the whole of the pre-Construction team activity.
With over 15 years of sector experience, Adam helps our clients with early collaboration on feasibility, budget and programme estimates, as well as innovation as part of our customer support role in advance of personally handling the fine tuning of the scope, cost and programme that forms the contract.
Adam is a valued member of the MTX senior management team, as well as holding personable and professional relationships with our customers.
