In May 2016 MTX were awarded the contract to supply and deliver modular classroom accommodation to three school sites in Salford. MTX will be working on behalf of Galliford Try, who are in contract with Salford City Council.
A modular solution was essential in order to meet the required deadlines of the intake for the new school term. The modular construction methods will also help reduce waste and minimise disruption to activities at the school sites.
- The Friars – 2 Classrooms and Breakout area, single storey.
- St Pauls – 6 Classrooms and Breakout area, single storey.
- Lark Hill – 8 Classrooms and Breakout area, two storey.
The external finishes will be a mix of softwood cladding and render to ensure the buildings are aesthetically pleasing and blend in with their environment.
The schools are scheduled to be in operation ready for the new school year in September.
